And no, the answer can not be "Lou Holtz's face."
As we approach the two-month mark in the long wait/countdown to college football 2011 (with no lockouts! Yay!), we continue asking meaningless poll questions and taking the temperature of the sleeping giant that is Purdue football fandom.
Obviously, sports cliche fans, you want to win every game...and you just take 'em one game at a time (That's good advice, too; I remember one time when Jim Colletto tried to play three games at once -- disaster). But if you had to rank the team you want to beat the absolute most on this year's schedule, who would it be?
We've posted a poll at the right with who I would imagine are the likeliest suspects, but we also included "Other" as an option. Poor University of Other. Anyway, if you choose them, let us know in the comments who you've got your scope trained on.

normally I go ND here, but beating IU is a forgone conclusion. but apparently not anymore! we MUST win the bucket back this year.
afterall, if we lose to ND it's considered expected since they are the dominant national program. *cough* *cough* losing to IU is not expected and not acceptable.
I voted other. Every year we always lose one stupid game (2010 Toledo, 2009 Northern Illinois etc..) so how about we win every non-con game we're supposed to, which would be Middle Tennessee, Rice and Southeast Missouri St. That would make me happy.
I tried to say OSU. I'd love to beat OSU, and in the long run, that would be more important than beating ND since it is a conference game.
But I had to pick ND. There aren't many things in this world that I hate more than ND.
IUND. Can I combine the two?
F. We need to get that GD bucket back where it belongs, so I picked IU.
A very, very close 2nd place is ND.
definitely ND, simply because domers won't have any excuses for losing to us
everyone knows that if we were to beat O$U, the 'well we have a new coach and first year QB, just wait till next year!' excuses would come out the wood work
From the list I'd say ND. But I'd really like to beat Wisconsin, they have completely owned Purdue since that horrible night in West Lafayette with Gameday in town.... fumble....
WE MUST GET THE BUCKET BACK. ND of course I love to beat them but IU is by far #1 no matter how bad they are. A good IU shellacking feels much better than beating ND. I say this because although it feels good to beat ND, their fans are just snobs and blame it on something else. IU fans on the other hand, well its just fun to rub it in. When we can sweep football and basketball.....sweetness.
If we still had the bucket sitting cozily in the confines of West Layflat then I'd click the circle next to "ND" so many times my finger would cramp. But I can't get my master's without the bucket... I will intentionally withhold my thesis. (just kidding, id love to eat something other than ramen, macncheese, or harry's popcorn for once)
I would have to agree with most everybody. Losing to Rinky Dink U last year ticked me off more than anything. If we lost to them 2 years in a row I may have to get to know Mr. Burke and personally ask for an explanation on why Hope is still around.
I TOTALLY agree with the first three comments. I actually voted for ND just because it's ND and there is no explanation needed. Redemption under the stupid lights at Ross-Ade would be sweet.
Ricardo Allen is going to be a flat out stud this year. 1st team All Big 10 I think. Josh Johnson and him will be one of the Big 10's best CB duo's.
I want to beat Wisconsin. Their coach irks me, and they're going to think they're the cock-of-the-walk now that they have Russell Martin. It would be nice to take them down a notch, especially given how obnoxious their fans are.
I picked OSU.
I'd love to kick their stinking, cheating carcasses around on the gridiron. Plus it's a conference win.
IU is the bucket. ND snobs. Ohio State is just plain evil.
Iowa. Duh.
Oh yeah! duh! how could we forgot our most hated rival, Iowa.
Not including Iowa in the options is my way of taking a shot at our most hated rival.
I gotta go with Wisky. Ever since the Orton fumble, I have seen way too many obnoxious Wisconsin fans/alums talking smack.
