BS Chats With College Football Zealots

If you're wondering when guys who write about a college football team get asked to weigh in with their input on the upcoming season, the answer appears to be... May.

We were asked by the fledgling site College Football Zealots to answer some questions about Purdue football. We obliged because we're cool like that. And we were tired of making fun of each other for watching baseball and IRL.

If you're interested in what we had to say -- and you just can't stop jonesing for Purdue football talk -- head on over and check out the exchange.

More Useless Predictions From Your Editors

We've been getting a lot of requests this year to weigh in on the upcoming Boilermakers football season. Either we're getting a measure of respect in this blogging world or it's just the result of a lack of options (hey, besides us and Slammer and Snails, where else do Purdue fans go?).

You may recall Boilerdowd linking you to our efforts for MVN. Here are a couple others -- this Q&A with On Wisconsin was actually a lot of fun to rattle on about... they asked some excellent questions, I thought, and didn't just go with the boring, "offense-defense-prediction" route.

In addition, a relative newcomer (at least to us) to the blogging fold, We Want The Lion, asked us for our take on the 2009 Boilers as well. You can find that one here, and it, too, is well done. Mainly because we're handsome. I guess I'd like to know... if they get the lion, what do they plan to do with it? Wait, maybe I don't want to know.

And, of course, there's also the upstart Blog Ten, who also asked us to contribute, which we of course did, because we're whores for attention.

What will really be funny is when you see our official season preview and realize we've been sandbagging everybody else and are really predicting an 11-1 season for the Boilermakers.

Oh, and the picture with this post? No particular reason. It's just Jenn Sterger, and for whatever you think about her as a publicity-grubbing hooch, this picture just makes my day. Thanks, Jenn.

BS All The Time!

J and I had the chance to meet one of the regular female visitors to BS yesterday, our new pal named Julie. We also got to rub elbows with a bunch of people that love our Boilers like we do...and we have video to prove it. Check back in the next few days for a video of some Paint Crew members and fellow alums who are part of the BS family.

Gift Idea for the Purdue Fan On Your List

The fine folks as Asgard Press who produced the 2009 vintage Purdue calendar that's shown at left are at it again. Last year, they produced 2008 calendars and other coolio, old-school stuff that brings you back to the days of yesteryear... when the rivers were pure, Joe Paterno had only been coaching for two decades and Purdue football was... mediocre. Okay, well, some things haven't changed.

However, they off "calendars, stationary, postcard books and more." And Purdue is just one of the many schools available. By visiting their site via this link, you can browse through and purchase at a discount. Could dad use a calendar for his office? Could sis use stationary to write love notes to your best friend? Could be.

So take a look and be sure to use our link so that you not only get a discount, but, if enough people spend cash there, we get something like a .0000016% kickback. (Note: kickback percentage may not be accurate.) If we make at least $1 million off this deal, we'll be sure to distribute to our regular readers via the Boiled Sports Profit Sharing Program. (Note: Program doesn't exist.)

Alternatively, go ahead and click the fancy little animated gif below to link to Asgard Press, too. Shop, shop, shop, you little buckaroos.
