Indiana Bulldogs Banking on Better Mascot Recognition

It's since been corrected, but Scout.com had up a college football preview for IU that seemingly announced a mascot change for the cream and crimson:

That's right, your Indiana Bulldogs! No word yet on whether Butler is pissed about this.

(Thanks to reader Gregg Z for the heads up.)

"the schedule works out nicely with Towson, at Western Kentucky, and Akron to start the season, and with home games against Michigan, Arkansas State, and Northwestern providing the hope to get to six wins."

Townson? Western KY? Ark State? Can we PLEASE set a strength of schedule standard for bowl eligibility? Then again, if we do that, the Bucket Game will no longer count for our Boilers.

Bowl revenue is split evenly between Big Ten teams. If IU wants to play a few weak teams and draw about 40,000 per game so that all the other schools end up with an extra $65,000 or so, that's all right with me.

Besides, there are too many bowls to bring SOS into the picture. There may not be enough qualifying teams as it is.
