All due respect to Albert Evans, and please understand I have never played at his level, but he seemingly fails to make the connection between the failure of players on gameday and the accountability of the HC. There is a connected line that runs from the AD to the HC to the OC/DC to the position coaches to the players. Short term punishment and encouragement may run downhill, but accountability runs uphill.
Absolutely. But you can understand (and respect, I'm sure) him saying the players should be given some blame, too. That's a fairly refreshing thing to hear from a player.
no question.side note - i too got a nice chuckle of murphy's "MB and I have an understanding..." tweet. I enjoyed the radio show this morning while I had a conference call on mute; made it all the sweeter.
I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with coaches using the potential loss of their job as motivational tool. I know these guys have close relationships with their coaches, but it seems a little off to me.
I was a little shocked by that too, Allen. Professional. Veeeerrrryyyy professional.
