The Hazell Hiring Handsome Hour

Purdue has a new coach...and the Handsome Hour is taking handsomeness to unseen levels.
The boys are back after a mere week...and they've brought some friends along.
Brendan "The Instigator" Murphy and Albert "The Hitman" Evans weigh in on recent happenings in and around the Purdue football program and on the interwebnets.

Tune in to hear Dowd's bellyaching...stay for J's bright-eyed optimism.  It's the Handsome Hour...and it's starting...now.

All due respect to Albert Evans, and please understand I have never played at his level, but he seemingly fails to make the connection between the failure of players on gameday and the accountability of the HC. There is a connected line that runs from the AD to the HC to the OC/DC to the position coaches to the players. Short term punishment and encouragement may run downhill, but accountability runs uphill.

Absolutely. But you can understand (and respect, I'm sure) him saying the players should be given some blame, too. That's a fairly refreshing thing to hear from a player.

no question.

side note - i too got a nice chuckle of murphy's "MB and I have an understanding..." tweet. I enjoyed the radio show this morning while I had a conference call on mute; made it all the sweeter.

I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with coaches using the potential loss of their job as motivational tool. I know these guys have close relationships with their coaches, but it seems a little off to me.
