Tony Romo and T.O. Apparently Shop At the Same Dorky Hat Store

Take a look at these daffodils:

I don't see how anyone can think Tony Romo doesn't love T.O. given that they clearly shop together for hate my grandfather would have worn.

Seriously, what is with certain athletes trying to look like they're fashion plates at press conferences? And why doesn't Tom Brady dress like this? Or Eli Manning? Or Peyton Manning? How come it's only the guys who've never one a damn thing who look like they're more concerned with stylish freaking hats than the game itself?

Okay, but I digress. The Cowboys actually played really well last night. Their defense especially came to play and the whole team, to their credit, played like they had to win -- which they did.

The Giants missed Brandon Jacobs a lot and it's very clear that without him and Burress, it could be an early end to the playoffs for the G-men. However, I'm still confident that with a healthy Jacobs, this team is solid and can make a run. Winning home-field next Sunday against the Panthers would be nice.

As for T.O., the dude needs serious help. I'm talking major counseling and perhaps some drugs. He's now acting as though nothing ever happened this past week and that ESPN's Ed Werder made it all up. The priceless cringing look on Andrea Kremer's face when Owens first said this on the field after the game was awesome. It's like when a child lies about something everyone knows to be true -- it's just kind of pathetic.

Yes, T.O. I'm sure the irresponsible media made it all up just to be mean to you.

But everyone was buddy-buddy after the win, while we all know that there would be even more hissy-fitting going on if the Cowgirls had lost last night. But all is well for now and I found it fun to see Jerry Jones and his merry band of idiots in his box celebrating and hugging after the win like they just won the Super Bowl. Hey, maybe you guys will make the playoffs this year! And maybe Tony and Wade will finally win a playoff game! Wouldn't that be fun?

Wade Phillips Is Getting His Finger Ready

I love it.

Living here in Texas now, I get to hear the arrogance of fans of teams like the University of Texas, Texas A&M and, of course, the Dallas Cowboys.

When the Cowgirls lost to the Giants last year in the playoffs, I think most of Dallas called out of work the next day. They were literally in a city-wide state of depression. The Super Bowl was rightfully theirs, dammit! And those creeps from the North stole it from them! It was supposed to be the 'boys and the Pack in the NFC title game, just like God, Peter King and Chris Berman wanted it.

Regardless, today there's an article out of Dallas about how Coach Wade Phillips (0-2 in the playoffs with the Cowboys) commented that this is their year and to "Get your ring finger ready."

Now, clearly, this is taken somewhat out of context, as there cannot be any way Phillips is this arrogant and/or stupid. When your team has stumbled as a favorite in the playoffs two years in a row and hasn't won a playoff game since 1996, your best course of action is to be humble.

But anyway, thought I'd share with you how last season went for the Cowboys as they sized up their rings at that time...

Oh, hey, look... there's the Giants celebrating as they won the game over the Cowboys, in Dallas.

Hey, there's Eli Manning and Amani Toomer exiting the field in Dallas victorious over the almighty Cowboys. Hey, did you know that Eli Manning has won a Super Bowl now and Tony Romo hasn't ever even won a single, lonesome playoff game?

Hey, look, there's Eli Manning, Super Bowl MVP for the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants.

Yeah, Dallas, you get your fingers ready. And when they're nice and ready, I'll tell you where you can stick them.

More Awesome Cowboy Reaction

First of all, I loved -- loved loved loved -- that this jackass came down to the sideline in the final minutes of the game to clap like a special ed student alongside his head coach. No pressure there, boys. Just the millionaire owner among you who pays all of your salaries and expects a Super Bowl, like, now. And then the game ends on the McQuarters interception and the whole team vacates the sidelines to respectfully congratulate the Giants and there's Jones standing there stone-faced and, to be sure, pissed.

I especially liked the report that Jerry Jones provided his players not only with the tickets to give their friends and families for this game, but he also provided them with two tickets each to next weekend's NFC title game. Nicely done, Jerry. (Of course, to be fair, this is probably typical. Fans have to buy tickets in advance for playoff games that might not be played -- in all sports -- and then get refunded for them. Still, it's kinda funny.)

I also love the arrogance that was out there leading into this game.... and to read the cockiness is just, well, wonderful.

I went to Deadspin to see some of the Cowboy blogs this morning and it's just more awesomeness.

This one feels the Cowboys "gave" the game to the Giants in every way possible. I'm not sure about that, but whatever you guys want to believe. "This offseason is going to be more unbearable than last year." Yeah, for your fat coach, too.

But I think my favorite knee-jerk reaction from idiot Cowboys fans came from the Cowboy Roundup. The article is a dead link now, but according to D-spin, the quote was as follows:

"Dallas couldn't get it done with seconds left on the clock. Perhaps Romo isn't the guy for the Cowboys ... It may be time to get Brady Quinn in here."

I don't know how to express how much I love this. I want to kiss this guy. Maybe even on the mouth. He's just so perfect to demonstrate knee-jerk idiocy of a city that has nothing else to live for besides their overrated football team.

Yes. Please please please... Dallas, start convincing yourselves that Brady Quinn is the answer and Tony Romo should be cast aside after one full season starting in the NFL. Indeed. Brady freaking Quinn! How stupendously wonderful would it be to see Brady Quinn stumbling around in the Cowboys backfield as they open their new stadium 3-13 and Jerry Jones fires three coaches in one season?

Sideboob Friday; The Eastern Illinois Edition

Does that headline mean we'll be featuring sideboobs from the girls who attended Eastern Illinois? No, it doesn't. It means that Purdue is playing Game 2 of their quest for world (or at least Big Ten) domination this weekend against Division I-AA Eastern Illinois. DI-AA schools are all the rage now that Appalachan State busted down the door against Michigan last weekend, to the point where the AP is now going to allow votes to be cast for I-AA schools, if voters so desire. So maybe Eastern Illinois will get their long-awaited due next weekend. Or maybe not.

The Boilers have their home opener tomorrow, a week after opening on the road at Toledo and absolutely smoking the Rockets, 52-24. How will the Boilers fare at home against the likely lesser opponent tomorrow? Let's turn to our in-house panel of experts.

boilerdowd: My prediction for the game is Purdue whipping up on 'em, even if suspensions are handed down to all guilty parties. (This is a reference to an ugly bar-fighting incident that led to Selwyn Lymon getting stabbed and a number of Purdue football players nearly beating some guy to death outside a bar and then lying to police about it. More on this in another post.) Purdue 49, E. Illinois 12. Running game will be extremely dominant.

Tim: Hopefully the App State game has them awake and ready. I don't think there will be a problem this week. I'm looking for close to 500 yards of offense for Purdue and about 250 for Eastern Illinois.I'm guessing Purdue 45, Eastern Illinois 17.

J Money: I like boobies.

boilerdowd: Yes, we know. But what do you think about the game tomorrow?

J Money: Boobies!

Tim: Has he been hit in the head?

boilerdowd: Tim, just show him your boobies...

J Money: Okay, fine. Boilers roll after some Painter gets over some home-field pumped-up jitters (that lead to him firing overthrown missles with fire coming off them). Purdue 51, Eastern Illinois 17.

By the way, did somebody mention boobies? That's right, it's Sideboob Friday. Buckle up.

Today's first picture is this week's reader submission. Submitted to us by our friend Doug who has submitted in the past, this is Joanna Krupa and this photo shows her girls are just longing to stretch out and enjoy the day, unfettered by fabric of any kind. Thanks for the submission, Doug. Good find.

Picture two is Vanessa Marcil, just because there are few things better than flesh-colored dresses. It kind of makes her look naked, which allows us a better visual of what she might indeed look like naked without all the fuss of an arrest for public lewdness and indecency. Not that any of us would turn Vanessa in if she decided to walk around naked.

Hey, it's U.S. Open time and so why not throw some more haphazard theming into this post with a picture of everybody's current favorite female tennis hottie, Maria Sharapova. Oh, Maria, you're just toying with us now, aren't you? Bending over, showing off your hooters while grabbing two balls in your hand.... wait, I'm getting lightheaded writing that sentence...

Today's final pic is again all part of a carefully (or half-assed) theme for today's Friday boob extravaganza. This is Carrie Underwood, who, unless I'm misinformed, is dating one of the more overrated QBs in the NFL, Eastern Illinois' own Tony Romo. See how I bring everything full-circle? It's kind of a meandering, aimless-seeming route, but by the end of our walk together, we're holding hands, gazing at each other in love and you're wearing my varsity jacket.

No, I don't know what I'm saying, either. Have a good weekend, boys.

Sideboob Friday is a production of Boiled Sports and runs every Friday in this space. During the football season, it may also contain our picks for that weekend's Purdue matchup and more nonsense than usual. If you'd like to share boobie goodness or just say something that you can't say to anyone else, we're always listening at BoiledSports@gmail.com.
