The Handsome Night Rises

We know you all missed it. But it's been a less-than-handsome basketball season, thus our interest level waned. However, we're recharged and back for fun. We promise to make what might be the only episode of Season Eight of the Handsome Hour worth your while. Or at least we promise to make it pass an hour of your time. How's that for managing expectations?

Sure, it's been a lean sports year at Purdue -- but the basketball team has shown signs of life (plus even when our boys have a down year, it's not a down year), spring football is coming soon to a furnace near you, and let's be honest -- you miss us. We miss you, too. Let's not make a big deal out of it.

The Hazell Handsome Hour - Tonight at 9:30 PM

The good news is that evidently word finally reached Chicago that Darrell Hazell has been hired at Purdue and so the Big Ten Network is going to air the presser live at 7 PM -- unless, of course, Wisconsin hires someone by then. You'll be able to find a stream of the press conference on Purdue Sports as well.

Following that, have some Hazellnut-flavored egg nog and join the Handsome Duo as we discuss the new Purdue coach with everyone's pal -- and sometime antagonist -- Brendan Murphy, the man who broke the story.

We're also endeavoring to get another guest on to discuss Hazell and his time at OSU so we can hear what others think we're getting.

Regardless, you won't want to miss it -- especially since you never know what kinds of pratfalls and misdirection BTR has planned for us all!

Handsome Hour Returns to Video Format TONIGHT

You're in for a real treat tonight, as the boys will be in the same ZIP code for a change and thus will be putting on an exciting video Handsome Hour for the second time evahhhh!

You'll recall how awesome the last one started, with echo chamber effects, giggling, poor lighting, etc. Basically, it was like a slumber party in one of the many sororities that listen to the Handsome Hour on a regular basis.

We know many of you love to listen to the show, but since I would imagine the majority of you do so via your computermachine, you can do the same thing here.

We'll be streaming the show live at 9:30 PM, Eastern Time, at the Boiled Sports Ustream channel, and we'll also be recording it and posting it here on the site, as per usual, for your listening pleasure at your convenience.

Handsome Hour Season Finale - Ho Edition

After standing you up for two weeks, the Handsome Hour returns with gusto tonight -- only to leave you hanging once again as tonight is the season finale.

But fret not! Just like James Bond, we will return.

However, let's not get all sad about the gaping chasm in your life created by the absence of the Handsome Hour while we're in between seasons, redecorating the studio, hiring new interns and whatnot. Let's instead get together tonight, curl up with our snowflake and reindeer blankets and a cup of egg nog and listen as Boilerdowd sings about his roasting chestnuts.

HH for SBF Trade?

For the second week in a row, we must delay the Handsome Hour, dear readers/listeners. I hope you can forgive us.

B-dowd has an Amway meeting tonight and is just a few sales away from turning a tidy profit (you suckers are all going to be sorry you didn't join him), and since our next episode will be the Exciting Season Finale™, we'd like you to hear from both your handsome hosts -- we know how much you miss us when we're gone. Right? No? Oh, okay. 


As of now, the Handsome Hour Season Five Finale will be held next Wednesday, 12/14, and then we'll take a few weeks off to get ready for the insanity that is the Big Ten basketball season, followed by the conference and NCAA tourneys. Then we'll take a nap.


As a peace offering, however, I pledge to bring back SBF for the remainder of December. We've gotten numerous requests for it, plus signoff by many of the ladies of BS, so we're a go. 
 

No Handsomeness Tonight - Dry Your Tears

After a Cal Ripken-esque streak of fourteen consecutive weeks, the Handsome Hour takes a break tonight so that B-dowd can watch Justin Bieber sing in front of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree on NBC. But don't fret -- we will return next Wednesday, December 7 with some holiday cheer, bowl talk, basketball discussion, and the guys will put a bow on the football regular season. How festive!

The Handsome Hour is still scheduled for tonight, it's usual night at 10 PM, Eastern.

Let me also say this. We are, obviously, aware of everything going on within the college football, Big Ten and Penn State communities right now. However, given that many of you -- and us, too -- use the podcast (and the site) as a way to get away from the realities of the world, we're going to do our best to focus on Purdue football and basketball, the curb-stomping at Wisconsin, the upcoming grudge match with Ohio State, etc.

That's not to say nothing will be said about the ongoing situation and we will be glad to discuss things as the situation warrants, but we're going to try to focus on the content you come here for.
