Tasty Pod-Castings with TheB1Gtime.com

A few weeks ago, we were asked to appear on theB1Gtime.com's Purdue installment of their B1G preview podcast series.  Last week, it was recorded and aired...this week, I link it here on this site in an effort to stretch out as little content into as much time as possible. If you already listened to it because you saw the link on Twitter, listen again for the nuance and sophisticated twists that you might have missed during the first go-'round.

For those of you who don't know, B1Gtime is a website that focuses on the entire conference and is run by a former Wisconsin blogger, Andrew Coppens, who is pretty damned good at what he does.

Check it out by clicking HERE.

Sure, it's only half as handsome as a Handsome Hour, but it's nearly as long and also pretty satisfying.

So take a listen while at the desk at work, or at the pool of your palatial estate.

The Hockey Handsome Hour

Once again, a special thanks to Hank from The Railroad Tie and Hoosier Hoops Report (and a longtime Washington Capitals fans and unabashed lover of hockey) for joining forces with me last night to do an off-topic BS podcast, the Hockey Handsome Hour.

We talked about what makes hockey awesome, each series in this year's first round, the dominance of the Blackhawks, the Caps-Rangers series that it so close to our hearts and, of course, we made some laughable Finals picks.

It's all crammed into a 90 minute podcast of excellence. So if you've got some time to kill and would love to hear some of your favorite familiar voices talk hockey, here you go.

Hockey Handsomeness?

Yes, that's right. Hank of the Purdue site Twitter feed The Railroad Tie as well as Hoosier Hoops Report (I hope he feels dirty even having "Hoosier" in the name of his site) will join me tonight as we step out of the characters you've come to know and discuss something completely different.

Hank and I are both longtime, die-hard hockey fans. I currently even play the game; no word on whether Hank is manly enough to do such a thing. Tonight, we'll fire up the podcastmachine and talk nothing but hockey, Stanley Cup playoffs, and so forth. If you're a fan of hockey, even on a small-time basis, you might enjoy it.

So feel free to join us tonight live, as we'll be streaming the chat at 9:30 PM, Eastern Time. As per usual, the recorded version will be available in perpetuity.

Miss The Handsome Hour? Get a Fix Here

If you've missed our sultry tones -- especially if you'd rather just hear us and not see us, something many women have professed to -- then you can get your fill of Handsome Hour-like goodness by visiting The Railroad Tie (which you should be reading anyway) and hearing their season preview episode of The Basketball Beat. (I think that's what they call it, though this one says it's an "Interview with Boiled Sports," which is flattering because it makes it sound like anyone cares what we have to say.)

It's a couple hours of brilliance boiled down to just a lone hour, so you know it's packed with excellence. Rumor has it the outtakes may also be produced one day, which may or may not feature us taking all manner of potshots at other sites and Boilerdowd singing the Mary Tyler Moore theme song.

Get listening.

BS Appears On Enemy Podcast

We were once again asked to join MadTown Badgers for their preview podcast centering on Purdue football. We joined up with Mike Carmin from the Lafayette J&C and talked Purdue football for 45+ minutes.

So if you've been longing to hear my dulcet tones and continuing trepidation about Purdue football, circa 2012, tune in and give it a listen.

I particularly enjoyed Carmin's last line of his appearance where, after I thanked him for the work he does and for keeping us all informed, he said that they do their best, "under the circumstances."

Take that as you will.

11W & BS; Like Dogs and Cats, Living Together

If you're interested in hearing Boilerdowd's dulcet tones in another venue, I can provide you with his home phone number if you want.... alternatively, you can listen to his appearance on the Eleven Warriors podcast, or the "Dubcast," recorded last night.

I know, I know. Boiled Sports and Eleven Warriors cooperating? Getting along? Backslapping, giggling, snapping each other's asses with wet towels and pushing each other into the bushes? Hard to believe, right?

Check out his appearance starting about ten minutes in.

Not Feeling Handsome

Just a quick programming note for you here...the Handsome Hour will be postponed this week. We're really not in any mood to do a show right now, plus I'm traveling this week so logistics say it makes more sense to put it off a week.

Also, a reminder that our season finale will be the week of April 4 and may be a very special show this time. More to come on that.

Bits of BS for 11-16-10

We're introducing a new feature here at BS wherein we will give you yet another avenue to our opinions. Because we know you just don't have enough.

On a periodic basis, perhaps twice a week, b-dowd and/or I will record some quick hit thoughts and post them up in a more bite-sized portion.

Today is an 11-minute bite, which may or may not be the typical length. Who knows? We sure don't.

Enjoy.

[Update: We're going to go with "Bits of BS" for now.]

If You Can't Get Enough of Our Dulcet Tones...

We're off from the BS podcast this week (while we learn what we're doing and make it actually tolerable), but we'll be joining T-Mill over at Hammer and Rails on his podcast on Wednesday evening at 8 PM Eastern.

So give it a listen. Because if there's anything better than two aging dudes talking about Purdue football, it's three aging dudes talking about Purdue football.

The BS Podcast for June

The good news is we don't answer to anyone so we haven't yet been canceled. Check out the second Boiled Sports Podcast either via the link or through the player down below. Or download it yourself and listen at home in your underpants. Especially if you're a chick.

The Boiled Sports Podcast for June 25, 2009

Boilerdowd and J fire up the podcastmaker to talk about Robbie Hummel's restful summer, what a douche Kobe is, current and former Purdue football ad campaigns and what the level of excitement is and should be going into the new football season.

The Boiled Sports Podcast Has Landed

Boiled Sports stupidity/sexiness is coming to a theater near you, so put your pants on. Or don't.

To listen to the first-ever BS Podcast, you can click on the link below or simply click play on the little player down below. But don't click on your own "little player." At least, not around us.

Yes, it's a little rambling and careens violently from topic to topic, but why should the podcast be different from the site? This is our first run and so we promise to try to get better. By football season, we'll have it down to a scientology.

The Boiled Sports Podcast for May 20, 2009

J and boilerdowd get on the horn to talk about the future of the BS podcast series, why Notre Dame sucks, whether baseball or Indycar racing are more sleep-inducing, the outlook for Danny Hope and Boilermaker football, and lots in between.
